1. Using Mind Maps and Graphic Organizers to summarize information graphically.

  • Do you know what mind maps are?
  • Do you know what graphic organizers are?
  • Do you know what they are used for?
  • Have you ever used them? What for?
  • How many types of graphic organizers do you know?

exclamationMark.jpgFor information about graphic organizers, please consult the following web sites:

exclamationMark.jpgFor information about mind maps, watch this video (Highly recommended) and consult the links below it.

readingIcon.jpg2. Reading:

  • Read the two articles filed in moodle in a folder labeled "Circulation" (Week 4)
    1. Horizontal Circulation (Professor Watanabe's script)
    2. Vertical Circulation

  • Take notes of what you consider are the most important parts of both texts in a word doc.
  • Use both texts, the podcast on Horizontal Circulation, and your notes to summarize the information contained in the texts using either a mind map or any other type of graphic organizer.
  • You can create one diagram for each text, or you could also integrate both texts in only one mind map or graphic organizer.
  • Create two new pages in your personal wiki space:
    1. Horizontal Circulation
    2. Vertical Circulation

exclamationMark.jpgNOTE: If you integrated both texts in only one graphic organizer or brain map, then create only one new page in your wiki, and name it "Circulation" or "Horizontal & Vertical Circulation".
